Sarah Cracknell chante Mavis
Ooooooh the pretty comeback of Sarah Cracknell (Saint Etienne) along with two well known artists in my personal record collection, Darren Morris and mostly Ashley Beedle. These two spent an afternoon listening to Mavis Staples and let their imagination grow on the realization of a concept tribute-like album. In order to carry on with this project, they recruited their musician friends -more or less famous- (Edwyn Collins, Candi Staton, Ed Harcourt…) getting as result this splendid Mavis Presented by Ashley Beedle & Darren Morris.

Ooooh le joli comeback de Sarah Cracknell (Saint Etienne) en compagnie de deux artistes bien connus de ma discothèque, Darren Morris et surtout Ashley Beedle. Ces deux là ont passé un après midi à écouter Mavis Staples et se sont laissés à imaginer dans la foulée un album concept en forme d’hommage. Pour mener à bien le projet, ils se sont entourés de leurs potes musiciens plus ou moins célèbres (Edwyn Collins, Candi Staton, Ed Harcourt…) avec pour résultat ce splendide Mavis Presented By Ashley Beedle & Darren Morris.
